A healthy relationship with strong communication skills is one where both parties understand how they like to receive and show their love. Knowing your partner's love language can really transform your relationship. If they happen to enjoy Acts of Service, check out how you can start showing your love and appreciation in a way that they understand.

The 5 Love Languages

If you have never taken The 5 Love Languages Quiz, I do highly recommend taking it so you can see what works best for you. Although you likely have a few ways that you enjoy giving and receiving love, the 5 different love languages are:

  • Acts of Service

  • Quality Time

  • Words of Affirmation

  • Gifts

  • Physical Touch

In last week’s video, I gave a good overview of The 5 Love Languages, and I’ve linked it below in case you didn’t get a chance to watch it.

Acts of Service

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be focusing on each one of the different love languages, and in the video below, I kick off this series by talking about how Acts of Service shows up in a relationship. I do hope this will give you some ideas of how to show love through Acts of Service, and I hope this series on The 5 Love Languages will have you understand more about how you can use The 5 Love Languages to create a healthy relationship.

An Act of Service doesn’t have to be complicated, although I’m not saying complicated is a bad thing. It could be offering to cook dinner for your partner after a long day at the office. Maybe you run them a soothing bath to relax while you take care of the laundry that has piled up all week long. There really is no shortage of Acts of Service that can be done to show someone how much you care and appreciate them. It may not take much effort to do, but it can mean so very much to the one you love.

Relationship Communication Workshop Updates

I have created an online Relationship Communication Workshop to help you dig into the communication struggles in your relationship and start getting things back on track. I have had a number of participants submit reviews and suggestions of different lessons that would be a great addition to the workshop. I want this to be as helpful as possible, so I have decided to listen to the feedback and expand the course to include even more relationship guidance.

There is an entire section that will be devoted to understanding even more about the love languages. I will also be providing you with more details into how to manage them in relationships.

I realize that not everyone wants to go through long-term therapy or the process of getting to a therapy appointment may not fit into your busy schedule. That's why I created this course. I wanted to provide you with a way to get access to the tools my clients get from me in my practice, but you can access the material from the comfort of your own home or wherever you are.

Download the FREE Relationship Communication Guide by clicking the button below, and you’ll be the first to know about the relaunch of my Relationship Communication Workshop!!!
