The 5 Love Languages
If you have never taken The 5 Love Languages Quiz, I do highly recommend taking it so you can see what works best for you. Although you likely have a few ways that you enjoy giving and receiving love, the 5 different love languages are:
Acts of Service
Quality Time
Words of Affirmation
Gifts
Physical Touch
Four weeks ago, I gave a good overview of The 5 Love Languages, and I’ve linked the video below in case you didn’t get a chance to watch it.
Three weeks ago I went over more details about how Acts of Service shows up in relationships, and I’ve linked to that video below.
Two weeks ago I talked about how Quality Time shows up in relationships, and I’ve linked to that video below.
And last week I did my blog on ways that Words of Affirmation play in role in giving and receiving love. I have that video below.
Gifts
This week I’m continuing my series on The 5 Love Languages by talking about how giving and receiving gifts can play an important role in a relationship. I do hope this will give you some ideas of how to show love through gifts, and I hope this series on The 5 Love Languages will help you understand more about how you can use The 5 Love Languages to create a healthy relationship.
Wondering what kinds of gifts you can give to someone who's love language is receiving gifts? It doesn't have to be big, expensive, or a huge surprise. It really is the thought that counts....the little things like buying their favorite candy, grabbing them some flowers, or picking up their favorite take-out. Check out my video to find out more about this Love Language.
I think most everyone likes getting gifts. I’ve met a few people who don’t love it, but most people enjoy receiving gifts, especially if it’s from their special someone. I’m not suggesting anyone spend a lot of money because I do believe it’s the thought that counts. Maybe your partner loves a certain candy bar, and you happen to see it as you’re checking out at the grocery store. It may only cost a couple of bucks, but it can be worth quite a bit more to your significant other to know you were thinking of them and decided to get them a treat just because you want to see them smile.

Relationship Communication Workshop Updates
I have created an online Relationship Communication Workshop to help you dig into the communication struggles in your relationship and start getting things back on track. I have had a number of participants submit reviews and suggestions of different lessons that would be a great addition to the workshop. I want this to be as helpful as possible, so I have decided to listen to the feedback and expand the course to include even more relationship guidance.
There is an entire section that will be devoted to understanding even more about the love languages. I will also be providing you with more details into how to manage them in relationships.
I realize that not everyone wants to go through long-term therapy or the process of getting to a therapy appointment may not fit into your busy schedule. That's why I created this course. I wanted to provide you with a way to get access to the tools my clients get from me in my practice, but you can access the material from the comfort of your own home or wherever you are.
Download the FREE Relationship Communication Guide by clicking the button below, and you’ll be the first to know about the relaunch of my Relationship Communication Workshop!!!
