Therapy Thoughts with Lindsay - Episode 21: Mindset Shifts, Consistency & Ways to Love Yourself Well
It’s time for more Therapy Thoughts with Lindsay. Today is episode 21!
We are talking about the new year and the kickoff to the new decade. As we shift into this new year, we spend some time talking about ways to reset and wipe the slate clean as we look forward to what will be and where we are headed.
It can be overwhelming to imagine starting with a clean slate. It’s important to keep your expectations in check. Rather than imagining you’re going to be a brand new person, try to remember that you are on a journey of living your best life. I am a huge proponent of setting intentions versus resolutions as a way to keep yourself on track. Consistency is the key, and it’s what adds up to lasting change and big results.
What would it look like if you started to live your life day by day instead of expecting perfection? Focus on the process of making progress and learning to move past what isn’t working. You always have a chance to hit the reset button in your life and begin again. You are never as stuck as you think you are, and moving forward is always possible.
In today’s episode, I also get really personal about my own process of learning to push myself forward even when I didn’t want to take care of myself. I have just as many days of struggle as everyone else, but I’m so glad that I’ve learned ways to stay on the path I’m on and to help myself reset whenever I don’t feel like it.
My new Love Yourself Well Workshop is going to be focused on these topics and so much more. The relationship you have with yourself will set the tone for all the other relationships in your life. This workshop will help you take a deep dive inward to start understanding how to get yourself unstuck and back on track with your journey of living your best life. You spend the majority of your life in your own head, so let’s work to make it a nice place to be.
Randy Cash turns 50 tomorrow, and he is cracking me up on today’s episode. I’m still cracking up at his idea that I should implement into my coaching work. It would require me to have a whistle, but you’ll have to listen to hear the whole story.
Here’s the link to the Love Yourself Workshop if you’d like more information about it, and I’d love to help you start this journey!
